Synopsis
Uncanny X-Men # 508 -512: Sisterhood of Mutants
Writer - Matt Fraction
Pencils - Greg Land, Terry Dodson
Following the events of Messiah Complex, the whole world has learned about the bloodshed that followed in the aftermath of baby Hope being born. And unsurprisingly, it has created a new excuse to be afraid of mutants. A law is proposed that would regulate the birth of mutants. Oh no! This totally seems like a unique, new, and complex idea I've never seen before!
Emma is teaching the Russian prostitutes that Colossus picked up in the last boring arc, however I'm pretty sure this is the last we will see of them in this arc. Wolverine travels to Canada to personally invite Northstar back onto the team. The cool mutants are mysteriously kept their powers.
Domino is in Tokyo and runs into our villain gang for this arc, the Sisterhood of Mutants (even though I'm pretty sure there are some non-mutants here.) The ghost of Madelyn Pryor has assembled Spiral (not a mutant,) Regan & Martinique Wyngarde (mutants confirmed,) Chimera (probably not a mutant,) and Lady Deathstrike (not a mutant, just a Cyborg.)
After a brief battle with Domino (which seems random in retrospect,) they bring back Kwannon (or Psylocke!?) Psylocke was found between dimensions by Madelyne Pryor, who brought Braddock's original body from Kwannon's grave and transferred Braddock's mind back to it. Maddy brought back Kwannon as a test because she wants to bring herself back (seeing that she's currently a psychic ghost.) I'm pretty sure this (Maddy's ghostness) was a plot point developed in the X-Man series, but it's one of those series I gave up due to boredom. I have heard a lot of complaints though about how X-Man (another version of Cable from the Age of Apoc timeline) had sex (or ghost sex?) with his mother, but it's totally cool because they are from different timelines. In unrelated news, Boardwalk Empire was a good show.

The Sisterhood of (fake) Mutants attack the X-Men at night, because their security is state of the art unless the plot needs it not to be.

Damn, I'm being very sarcastic today. They are actually kicking their ass and it comes down to Pixie, Armor, and X23 to save the adults. I thought this seemed like a really fun idea, but it really doesn't go very far. In a fun battle scene, Emma goes into diamond form to escape and beats up Regan Wyngarde (which is part of why the young ones weren't needed as much.)

Pixie thinks Empath let them in (Empath is being held a prison room at the XM headquarters.) Pixie got Elixir to heal Nightcrawler and Colossus who both got fucked up by the Sisterhood.
I was convinced that Maddy wanted to take over Kwannon's body. Then I was conviced it was Emma. But no, they stole a lock of Jean Grey's hair that Logan was holding onto (Lol, that creeper!) The Sisterhood withdraws and are heading to Jean’s buried body, but Domino is waiting for them.

Oh yea, she does show back up! Maddie tries to re-incarnate but it turns out that Domino switched the bodies and she seems to have been beaten. All the other girls leave.
Dazzler blows up Psylocke’s face and then fights it out in the Astral plane. It's kind of confusing, to be honest, but in the end Psylocke is back. I'm going to be honest, I don't even remember what happened to her last. Didn't she get brought back to life already after dying in Claremont's Extreme X-Men? Did she really die again after that. I'm a professional X-Men blogger, so I should probably look it up. Update: I was reminded that Psylocke had joined the Exiles, where apparently she got in a romantic relationship with Sabretooth. Fun.
Beast tells Scott that when he gets back from his mission they are gonna have to talk about all the secrets. Speaking of Beast...
We see that Beast is still working with his nerd squad (the X-Club) to try and bring back mutants, which now includes Dr. Nemesis, Madison Jeffries, Dr. Kavita Rao, and Dr. Yuriko Tagukuchi. The X-Crew decides that the next (likely failed) attempt to bring back mutants will involve going back in time to study the X-Gene, because this doesn't seem at all like a thin premise for a time travel adventure.
X-Club, joined by Angel and Psylocke, travels back to 1906 to collect DNA from Dr. Nemesis’s parents, uncovering a Hellfire Club plot to use Nicola Bradley’s invention to wipe out the future mutant race. The team rescues Nicola from an early Sentinel prototype, but the mission spirals into disaster when Nicola is killed, the Sentinel is destroyed, and the San Francisco earthquake is inadvertently triggered. Before returning to the present, Nemesis ensures his own existence by guiding his parents’ legacy and safeguarding the DNA samples. Back in the present, the team discovers the Dreaming Celestial standing over the burial site, marking it as a pivotal nexus in humanity’s evolutionary past and future.
Original Sin (Wolverine: Origins # 28 - 30, X-Men: Legacy vol. 1 #217 - 218, X-Men: Original Sin #1:)
The X-Men: Original Sin storyline centers on Wolverine bringing his estranged son Daken to the X-Men, hoping Charles Xavier can undo the brainwashing that turned him into a weapon. Logan’s request forces long-buried secrets into the open, including the revelation that Wolverine himself was once sent to kill Xavier during Giant-Size X-Men, only to have his programming erased by Charles. When Xavier refuses to alter Daken’s mind, Daken falls under the influence of Miss Sinister, whose manipulations expose how deeply his psyche has been damaged. As Wolverine and Xavier confront both Sebastian Shaw and Miss Sinister, Daken regains his memories and nearly kills Xavier before Logan intervenes. In the end, Xavier helps Daken remember the truth of his past, but cannot fix what’s broken between father and son. The arc closes with Wolverine and Daken leaving together, united by blood and rage, to hunt down Romulus.
X-Men: Worlds Apart: A Storm story
Writer - Christopher Yost
Pencils - Diogenes Neves
X-Men: Worlds Apart explores the growing rift between Storm’s roles as an X-Man and Queen of Wakanda, a conflict Cyclops directly challenges as the X-Men attempt to recruit remaining mutants to San Francisco. Storm is pulled back to Wakanda when Nehnzo commits murder, igniting political unrest and prompting Black Panther to publicly declare their marriage a mistake. As tensions escalate, it’s revealed that the Shadow King is manipulating events, possessing Cyclops and turning him violently against the X-Men. Storm and Nehnzo are forced to flee, clashing with the Dora Milaje while Storm destroys Cyclops’s Blackbird to save her team. Seeking guidance from Wakanda’s spiritual traditions, Storm ultimately confronts and defeats Black Panther in ritual combat. In the climax, Storm willingly allows the Shadow King to possess her and T’Challa, only for the god-force within her to consume the Shadow King and restore balance.
My Connections and Creators
Boring or Great?
If you read my synopsis above, then you probably tell that I was bored. Thank God I'm enjoying X-Factor and New Mutants right now! I won't say that Matt Fraction and this iteration of Uncanny is cooked though. I do like his characterization and the art is fantastic.
Thoughts on Art
I know that Greg Land is an embattled X-men artist, and maybe all of his drawings are stolen, but god damn his art is good!
Things to keep an eye on
Will we see Daken a bunch more?
Is Psylocke staying on as part of the team?
Will this be the end of Maddie? (hopefully)
