  • X-Treme X-Men vol. 1 #24    2003    Chris Claremont    Salvador Larroca

  • Cannonball struggles with the violent aftermath of the Weapon 12 attack

  • Sam spends months with Lila Cheney

  • He agrees to join the XTX

Classic slow issue where we take some time with Cannonball before he joins the X-Treme X-Men.

X-Treme X-Men # 25 - 30: God Loves, Man Kills 2

Writer - Chris Claremont

Pencils - Igor Kordey

X-Treme X-Men vol. 1 #25    2003    Chris Claremont    Igor Kordey

  • Lady Deathstrike frees William Stryker from an exploding prison plane

I thought Stryker died, but maybe I'm thinking of X2. Over recent arcs, Lady Deathstrike has become much more interesting to me.

  • Kitty Pryde doing school therapy

Kitty in the Hizzouse!

  • W, Sage, Cannonball, and Sam taken out

  • Stryker and LD capture Kitty

X-Treme X-Men vol. 1 #26    2003    Chris Claremont    Igor Kordey

  • Amazing fight scene where storm gets knocked out by a missile in the air, as she’s falling to the ground, sage positions, Sam, while stuck in a net, across from Wolverine's claws, and asks Sam to start propelling into his claws to free himself, so he can then fly off and catch storm last minute

This was pretty cool. Claremont has always been pretty damn good at creating fun fighting scenes and cool uses of their powers.

  • Pretty cool scene while Kitty is in custody where all of the possible versions of kitty are giving her a hard time about her choices

  • It turns out that this is all a ruse, as William Stryker is trying to condition her to turn against her fellow X-Men

  • Sage gets the captured mercenaries to share their secret plans

  • While LD (Lady Deathstrike) is connected to the internet, she is hacked and her body begins killing people, trying to get to Stryker

I really had no idea what was happening here when I first read this.

  • Stryker frees Kitty so they can both escape

X-Treme X-Men vol. 1 #27    2003    Chris Claremont    Igor Kordey

  • Kitty uses her power in a new way. Phases while the earth spins on its axis, sending her flying 300 mph.

I can't decide if this is super brilliant or super dumb. Leaning more towards dumb.

  • Due to Kitty phasing through the Earth, storm is thrown off, and her powers are out of control, putting the whole team at risk.

Oh Man, I've never seen this happen before.

  • After Bishop and Wolverine get her to calm down, Storm can no longer walk, but she can fly.

  • Sage posits that it was the adamantium suit phasing through the Earth that messed with storm

  • Kitty is brought to Mount Haven (near LA), which seems to be a mutant sanctuary.

  • Kitty passes out from a headache

X-Treme X-Men vol. 1 #28    2003    Chris Claremont    Igor Kordey

  • Stryker attacks the minister and Kitty

  • Mutant kids in the town take over Storm and Sage, attack Bishop

  • LD defeats W

X-Treme X-Men vol. 1 #29    2003    Chris Claremont    Igor Kordey

  • Cannonball is the only one left

  • Saves W

  • Kitty and Minister Paul are in a control station of some kind

  • Stryker’s gone into stealth mode

  • Is Paul a robot?

This was very confusing, but since it was also pretty boring I didn't bother to read it a second time to make my notes make more sense. Sorry!

X-Treme X-Men vol. 1 #30    2003    Chris Claremont    Igor Kordey

  • It turns out that Nannites were affecting all of the mutants, and all of the mutant children died

  • Bishop was inoculated as a child

Sure he was.

  • Logan claims that he let Lady DeathStrike stab him through the heart so that his mutant healing factor would reset his body and flush out the Nannites

  • Minister Paul is an AI

  • Stryker sacrifices himself to merge with Paul

  • Kitty says she’s going to run for office as an Alderman

My Rating- 3/10

Not your best work, Claremont.
